Natural Gardens Design Philosophy:

Leita designs gardens that return your landscapes to the natural world. She strives to create environments that emulate the Open Space that is so highly valued in the Bay Area.  Her gardens are habitat gardens.

Natural Gardens make outdoor living easy and comfortable.  There is a visually comfortable appeal to Leita’s designs, and she strives to create gardens that display a reverence for water through conservation.  She tucks a water feature somewhere in the landscape so that even though the gardens are drought tolerant, they don’t feel “dry”. She use California native plants, but often other Mediterranean climate plants are used.  The colors in her gardens imitate the natural world; the lines of the landscapes are gently curving, creating paths that lead the homeowner on a pleasurable journey.  Splashes of color surprise and delight the wanderer.  Her gardens are therapeutic and can be meditative. 

Leita’s philosophy integrates her commitment for a sustainable and diverse world with her passion for beauty.  Diversity enhances the environments she creates rather than depleting them as monocultures (such as acres of lawn) do.  Sustainability is at the forefront of every design choice she makes.

The Natural Gardens philosophy also includes a low cost and low maintenance segment. Leita wants everyone to be able to afford her gardens and take care of them, all the while learning about the natural world that has been created.

Her passion is to create beautiful gardens where humans, plants, and animals can live in harmony and thrive.
